Since August 15, 2018, there has been a legal amendment to the scope of the Dutch Regulation on Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (hereafter: the Regulation). This amendment to the law has (possibly) an impact on the electrical appliances you are legally obliged to report. We call this the Open Scope.
As a participant of Wecycle, you received information about the amendment of the law by e-mail on 12 December 2018. You can find more information about the Open Scope through the link below.

If you bring electrical appliances, low-energy light bulbs or luminaires onto the Dutch market, as described in the Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (AEEA) regulations, you have certain obligations. There is a full overview of them in the AEEA regulations, for which the government has produced a guide for readers (both in Dutch).
If your company sells electrical products directly to end-users in the Netherlands from abroad (through an online shop, for example), you are covered by the Dutch AEEA regulations. Not sure if you are a producer or importer? Check using the link below.
Note, since 15 August 2018, consumer luminaires and e-bikes have also been in scope of the AEEA Regulation. If you want to register your consumer luminaires selling company at Wecycle, please use the button below. In case your company put e-bikes onto the Dutch market, please contact us by e-mail or by phone +31 (0)79 7600 630.

As a producer or importer of low-energy light bulbs or luminaires, you are legally obliged to organize your collection and reporting via the LightRec Foundation. This also applies to companies that sell low-energy light bulbs or luminaires from abroad directly to end-users in the Netherlands. LightRec engages the services of Wecycle to actually carry out the collection and make the reports.

We are the only non-profit organization in the Netherlands which organizes the collection and recycling of e-waste. The costs for the collection and recycling of e-waste are borne by the producers and importers, who are affiliated to one or more product foundations. They set the fees.
Would you like to meet your legal obligations in an effective and cost-efficient manner? In that case, choose a solid and reliable partner, just like 2,000 other producers and importers have done. To sign up, click on the button below.
According to the AEEA regulations, you must declare imported or produced electrical appliances and low-energy light bulbs and luminaires (quantities and weights) that you put on the Dutch market. Use the button below to log on.

Wecycle is the organization that arranges the collection and recycling of e-waste. We do this on behalf of six product foundations, to which a total of 2,000 producers and importers are affiliated. The product foundations cooperate in the Association NVMP, which represents the collective interests of the producers.
